Acrylic Painting
This painting explored the anxiety of exposure. A skeletal head, suspended between laugh and scream, emerged from a swirling brown ground. An extended black-garbed arm reached into a turbulent blue field, caught between approach and withdrawal. The skeletal figure conveyed vulnerability, while the chromatic tension between brown and blue embodied suffocation versus release.
By using acrylic’s rapid layering, I was able to achieve textures that evoked instability. The painting externalised exposure not as passive visibility but as existential fragility, the anxiety of being laid bare to forces beyond control.
